What types of tubing do you manufacture?
B2 Manufacturing specializes in roll-formed round tubing. Special requests of rectangular and square tubes may be possible. Our core product line focuses on precision-laser welded, roll-formed tubing manufactured to tight tolerances for industrial, OEM, and heating applications.
What wall thicknesses and sizes can you produce?
B2 produces tubing across a range of wall thicknesses and outer dimensions. B2 Manufacturing specializes in thin and ultra-thin wall tubing from approximately 0.008" to 0.032" wall thickness, with OD sizes ranging from under 1/4" to 5/8" outside diameter.
Do you offer stainless steel and aluminum options?
B2 Manufacturing works with multiple types of stainless steel alloys. Our proprietary laser stir welding process is best suited for stainless steel material. Availability of specific alloys is ever changing — reach out to our engineering team for material availability on your specific cross-section.
Can you produce rectangular and square tube, or only round?
B2 manufactures primarily round tube profiles. Shaped tubing other than round is possible depending on many variables. Please contact engineering to determine the possibility of your shape.
Do you offer welded vs. seamless options, and when does it matter?
B2's roll-formed tubing is welded with a unique laser stir welding process developed in-house for thin stainless steel. We do not supply other types of welding processes, as laser stir welding is a superior way to make tubing.
Capabilities
What is roll forming and when is it the right process?
Roll forming is a continuous metal-forming process where a flat strip of sheet metal is progressively shaped by many sets of roller dies into a desired cross-sectional profile, then welded along the seam. It's the right choice when you need consistent cross-sections at long lengths, high-volume production with tight dimensional consistency, complex or non-standard profiles (custom shapes are tooled once and run efficiently), and cost-effective per-piece pricing at moderate to high volumes.
What secondary operations do you offer?
B2 Manufacturing offers a range of secondary operations including cut-to-length (saw cut, shear, or cold saw), end finishing (deburring, chamfering, facing), hole punching and notching, bending and swaging, and coating or surface treatment prep. Contact B2 to confirm which secondary operations are available in-house vs. through partners.
What is the maximum length you can produce?
Roll-formed tubing can be produced in continuous lengths, with cut-to-length as a downstream operation. Practical maximum lengths depend on material handling, straightness requirements, and shipping constraints. Standard lengths commonly run up to 20–24 feet; longer pieces are possible but may require special freight arrangements.
Do you have in-house tooling and engineering?
Yes — B2 Manufacturing maintains in-house tooling and engineering capabilities. This is a key differentiator for custom and OEM work: having engineers and toolmakers under one roof allows for faster quoting, rapid tool development, and tighter collaboration on profile design. Tooling revisions and iterations can happen without third-party delays.
Can you work from a drawing, or do you need a physical sample?
B2 can work from 2D drawings, CAD files, or dimensional specifications — a physical sample is helpful but not required. Providing a dimensioned cross-section drawing (PDF, DXF, or STEP) is the most efficient starting point for quoting and tooling development. If you only have a sample part, B2's engineering team can measure and reverse-engineer it to produce a drawing.
Ordering & Lead Times
What are your typical lead times?
Lead times vary by profile type: stock/standard profiles are often available within 1–2 weeks, custom orders on existing tooling typically take 2–4 weeks, and new tooling plus production generally takes 6–12 weeks from approved drawing to first article. Rush services may be available — contact B2 for current lead times.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ varies by profile type and whether it's a stock item or custom order. For custom profiles requiring dedicated tooling, MOQs are typically set to ensure the tooling investment is amortized over a reasonable run. B2's team can provide MOQ guidance during the quoting process based on your specific profile, material, and tolerance requirements.
Do you maintain inventory for fast-turn orders?
B2 maintains inventory of standard profiles and high-volume repeat items, enabling faster turnaround on common sizes. For custom or specialty profiles, blanket order programs and consignment stock arrangements may be available to support customers who need reliable fast-turn supply.
Can you ship directly to my customers or multiple locations?
Drop-ship and multi-location shipping programs are commonly supported by manufacturers serving OEM and distribution customers. B2 can likely accommodate direct-to-customer or multi-site delivery — contact our sales team to discuss logistics, labeling, and any blind-ship requirements specific to your supply chain.
Quality & Certifications
What quality certifications do you hold?
B2 Manufacturing operates under an internally developed quality management system.
Do you provide material certifications and test reports?
Yes — material certifications (mill certs / MTRs) and test reports are available. These documents certify chemical composition, mechanical properties, and compliance with relevant material standards (e.g., ASTM, AISI). Specify your certification requirements when placing your order to ensure documentation is included with your shipment.
What dimensional tolerances can you hold?
Roll-formed tubing tolerances depend on the profile geometry, material, and wall thickness. Typical commercial tolerances follow ASTM standards, with OD tolerances commonly deviating less than .004" on the diameter and wall thickness tolerances of ±10%. Tighter tolerances are achievable through additional sizing passes. Provide your tolerance requirements during quoting and B2's engineers will confirm achievability.
Do you perform in-process inspection?
Yes — in-process inspection is a core element of B2's quality system. This typically includes dimensional checks at setup and during runs, weld integrity monitoring, and visual inspection. First Article Inspection (FAI) reports can be provided for new or revised parts to formally document dimensional compliance against the drawing.
Custom & OEM
Can you develop a completely custom profile for my application?
Yes — custom profile development is a core part of B2's business. Starting from your drawing, CAD file, or sample part, B2's engineering team will design the roll tooling required to produce your exact cross-section. The typical process is: engineering review → tooling quote → tooling fabrication → first article samples → production approval → ongoing supply.
Do you sign NDAs for custom development work?
Yes — Non-Disclosure Agreements are standard practice for custom and OEM development work involving proprietary designs or specifications. B2 can execute mutual NDAs prior to receiving your drawings or discussing sensitive technical details. Contact our sales or engineering team to initiate the NDA process before sharing confidential information.
Can you help us redesign a current part to be more cost-effective?
Yes — design-for-manufacturability (DFM) consultation is a value-add B2 offers for OEM customers. Common cost-reduction opportunities include switching from machined/fabricated parts to a roll-formed profile, consolidating multi-piece assemblies into a single profile, adjusting wall thickness or material grade to reduce weight and cost, and re-tolerancing non-critical features to reduce inspection and scrap.
Do you support low-volume prototype runs before committing to full production?
Prototype and pre-production sampling is available and is a normal step in the custom development process. After tooling is built, B2 will produce first article samples for your approval before committing to full production quantities. For customers who need functional prototypes earlier in the development cycle, discuss options with B2's engineering team.
